Karen started her pupillage within the equity capital markets department of one of the largest local law firms in Singapore, advising on initial public offerings (IPOs), post-listing corporate actions and regulatory & compliance matters. She subsequently expanded her practice into mergers & acquisitions work and other corporate work in both the domestic and the international market, including advising on overseas IPOs in Hong Kong, the PRC and the USA.

Karen’s current practice at Altum Law Corporation includes mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate finance. Some of her recent notable transactions include the sale of a group of semiconductors companies for 5G wireless infrastructure systems to one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan and the listing of Khoon Group Limited and JLogo Limited on the Main Board and GEM Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange respectively.

She has been acting for numerous charitable foundations and institutions, including the City Harvest Church and an independent Singapore based theatre production company on their corporate related matters and advising them on their ongoing compliance obligations.

She has also been an independent director of companies listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange and Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Education and Qualifications

Karen graduated from the University College London in 2001. She continued to pursue a joint masters in law program at the same institution in conjunction with Kings College London and the London School of Economics.

She was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2005.
